Summary
It’s Day 6 of the Olympics and I head over to the Aquatics Center for Men’s Water Polo. Team USA took on Greece and defending Olympic Champions, Serbia, played Spain. The Aquatics Center was the only new facility built for the Paris Olympics. It was supposed to host swimming, but after various cost cutting decisions, they decided to build a smaller facility that did not. Built in Saint-Denis across from Stade de France, it was hoped to offer the area more access to swimming, where more than half of the population’s area do not know how to swim by 12.
After water polo I headed over to Nations’ Park at Parc de la Villete in Paris. Various countries hosted guests out there, offering food and cultural events. Club France was the largest with a plethora of activities for all ages. France's silver medal fencing team made an appearance, who were then welcomed by a line of drummers to sign autographs for fans.
