Summary
It’s Day 2 of the Olympics so I head up North to Lille to Pierre Mauroy Stadium to watch Team USA start their campaign vs Serbia and Nikoa Jokic in Men’s Basketball. A French fan explained to me that the stadium is actually a soccer stadium as more than 30,000 fans packed the house.
It was filled with mainly French fans donning NBA jerseys, which was a really cool experience. Team USA’s All-time leading Olympic scorer, Kevin Durant, came off the bench and went a perfect 8 of 8 off the bench in the first half to help Team USA come from behind and build a lead they never relinquished. This would be the first Olympic game for LeBron James, Steph Curry, and Durant as teammates.
