Summary
It’s Day 3 of the Olympics so I stayed in Lille to watch women’s basketball as Team USA started their campaign against Japan. I met a family from Newcastle with two young boys who told me how excited they were to try on Sabrina Ionescu’s shoes at the Nike store in New York, highlighting how much the game had grown.
After the match, I met some fans from the US, including one person who was taking a red eye bus back to fly back home to Atlanta. Somehow he had managed to get his carryon into the stadium.
