Summary
Day 16 continued on as I made my way from Team USA’s gold medal ceremony at Bercy Arena back to Stade de France one last time for the Closing Ceremony. It was an evening filled with color as over 200 nations paraded into the stadium. The evening was filled with memories of the past few weeks along with speeches and artistic performances, capped off with a fireworks show that filled the clear night sky.
After the event a couple from Australia stopped me and asked if I vlogged, in which they told me they had watched some of the videos here to help for their trip. We chatted for a bit afterwards and they told me to visit Brisbane for the Summer Games to come. It was a fun way to end the games by meeting someone out there that way. I conclude the video with my overall impressions and final thoughts on this once in a lifetime experience.
It was a dream since I was a kid to attend them, and after years of planning and taking French classes, it was an experience beyond anything I could have imagined. This was mainly in part to the great people who gave so much to the event that Pierre du Coubertin had reimagined and Paris 2024 President Tony Estanguet who dared for something greater.
It would have taken several lifetimes to experience it all. This was just one account of it. I hope you enjoyed it. Bravo and merci beaucoup to all involved in these games. I'm sure many like myself, will cherish it for a long, long time.
