Summary
It’s the penultimate day of the Olympics, Day 15, and it was a busy one. The morning started off down at the Palace at Versailles where the semifinals for Women’s Modern Pentathlon took place.
This was one of the three most anticipated venues for me, the other two being Eiffel Tower Stadium and Grand Palais. It was an interesting combination of events which involved show jumping with horses, fencing, swimming and a laser run, which was a combination of running and shooting targets. And naturally people had a picnic al fresco between sessions out under the canopy of trees there.
Later that evening I revisited Roland-Garros which was transformed into a venue for Boxing. Various Gold Medal matches took place that evening and I was able to see Chinese Taipei’s Lin Yu-ting and Uzbekistan's Abdumalik Khalokov win gold.
I then left a bit early to catch the Marathon for All, which was the first time the general public could participate in the Marathon course at the Olympics. I caught the 10k in front of the Louvre, where a frenzied crowd kept the party going in Paris.
