Summary
It’s Day 14 of the Olympics and I head out to one of my most anticipated venues of the games, Grand Palais. After $500 million Euros and years of renovations, the grand exposition hall hosted Fencing and the event I came to watch, Taekwondo.
The afternoon held Quarterfinal and Semifinal Sessions for men and women in various weight classes, highlighted by USA’s CJ Nickolas and Tunisia’s Firas Katoussi in their semifinal bout.
It was a delight attending a sporting event in a one of a kind venue which was beautifully captured in a painting I later saw from artist Marielle Durand, my first introduction to her work.
